Teskey’s Saddle Shop is thrilled to welcome the talented Cody Kimball to our 4th Annual Trade Days! With a passion for crafting intricate silver pieces, Cody has mastered the art of handmade bits and spurs, creating not just functional items but cherished heirlooms.

In a recent interview with Cody, we delved into his journey into silver work and his unique approach to crafting pieces that stand out in a crowded market.

The Journey into Silver Work:

Cody’s journey began with a desire to learn the art of building spurs, but it quickly evolved into a love for the engraving process. Over the past 6.5 to 7 years, he has transitioned into creating exquisite buckles and jewelry, showcasing his skills in silverwork. What drives him is the ability to build something special for individuals, pieces that hold meaning and can be passed down through generations.

Drawing Inspiration:

As a self-proclaimed non-artist, Cody draws inspiration from his own ideas and occasionally looks up to respected figures in the industry like Matt Litz and Tanner Crow. His unique approach involves minimal pre-drawing; instead, he prefers to sketch directly onto the piece before engraving, giving each creation a spontaneous, one-of-a-kind feel.

Trade Days Showcase:

During Teskey’s Trade Days, Cody will be presenting a stunning array of jewelry, including rings, necklace pendants adorned with turquoise and other stones, bracelets, and custom buckles. Attendees can also place custom orders to acquire a personalized piece crafted by Cody's skilled hands.

Local Artisan:

Based between Brock and Lipan, Cody proudly emphasizes his local roots. While he has primarily conducted business through custom orders on Facebook and Instagram, he recently launched an online store on his website, www.kimballsilverworks.com, opening up a new avenue for enthusiasts to explore and purchase his creations.

Balancing Tradition and Innovation:

In an industry with a growing number of makers, Cody aims to stay traditional while infusing his unique flair into each creation. His goal is not to be just another artisan but to offer a distinct and personalized touch that sets his work apart.

Affordability and Quality:

Cody recognizes the importance of affordability without compromising quality. His pricing strategy reflects a desire to make his work accessible to a broad audience while also offering a premium line for collectors who appreciate the finer details.

The Rewards of Craftsmanship:

For Cody, the most rewarding aspects of his business are twofold. First, it provides an opportunity to spend time with his family, given that his workshop is located at home. Second, the joy on a customer's face when they receive a meticulously crafted piece is what fuels his passion.

As we eagerly anticipate Cody Kimball's showcase atTeskey’s 4th Annual Trade Days, it's evident that his commitment to craftsmanship, tradition, and individuality will make his booth a must-visit for all lovers of finely crafted bits, spurs, and silver jewelry.
